Peter Molyneux's appearance at Microsoft's E3 media briefing last night was brief, certainly compared to his involvement with the unveiling of 'Project Natal' in 2009.
Earlier this year Molyneux said it would be "crazy" not to integrate Fable III with Kinect and explained how the technology would work with the game.
"You still need a controller to play Fable III but there are places in the world where you can use Natal, where it's cute, funny, engaging. You don't need it but it does enable an enhanced Fable 3," he said.
So what happened to Fable III Kinect integration at E3 2010? Molyneux certainly didn't talk about it during his time on stage.
We caught up with Neil Thompson, Senior Regional Director, Northern Europe, Entertainment & Devices Division, Microsoft Corporation, to get some answers.
"What Peter showed today, it [Kinect] wasn't part of it, so I'm not necessarily expecting it to be part of it," said Thompson. "We'll just have to wait and see what Lionhead Studios... where they develop and how they develop and where and when they'll want to integrate this sort of technology into their products."
That doesn't sound like we should expect to see Kinect and Fable III together in harmony. The game's scheduled for release on October 26, so we'd expect to hear about any such functionality pretty soon if it exists.
